With so much information out there about pregnancy, many women turn to pregnancy apps to help them navigate their journeys. Research shows that over 50% of pregnant women download pregnancy apps, downloading an average of three apps throughout pregnancy.
These apps can offer support in many areas, from tracking your baby’s development to managing your physical health and supporting your emotional well-being. Different apps are designed to meet different needs, which explains why expecting moms use more than one app to get the support they’re looking for.
But with so many apps to choose from, how do you find ones that are a good fit for you? To help you decide, we interviewed 100 pregnant women about the apps they used, what they loved, and what didn’t work so well. In this guide, we’ll walk through the best pregnancy apps available today, share real pros and cons from moms who’ve used them, and help you find the tools that match your needs.
While pregnancy can be exciting and joyful, it can also bring unexpected stress, uncertainty, and emotional ups and downs. But those harder moments aren’t always talked about — and many women end up facing them alone. Research shows that one in five women will experience symptoms of a perinatal mood and anxiety disorder (PMAD), and 75% of pregnant women experiencing symptoms of a PMAD will go untreated. Protecting your mental health is one of the most important things you can do to care for yourself and your baby. That’s where the Moment for Parents app comes in.
Moment for Parents was created to support your emotional well-being during pregnancy and postpartum. At the heart of the app is Mo, a friendly AI companion who helps you feel seen, heard, and understood. Mo is there to listen when you’re having a tough day, celebrate your wins with you, and help you build positive habits that last.
Through short, conversational reflections, Mo helps you explore your thoughts and emotions with curiosity and compassion. You’ll never get judgment or pressure — just thoughtful prompts, validation, and gentle encouragement to help you tune into what you need.
What makes Moment for Parents stand out is that it focuses on you. As one mom put it:
“I appreciate that it doesn’t have a ton of baby advice… it’s like a little therapist that provides a pep talk every day.”
Another added:
“I can Google answers about what’s going on with my baby. This is the only place where I can reflect on what’s going on with me.”
And that space to focus on your own mental health can make all the difference.
Each day begins with a quick mood check-in. After you share how you’re feeling, Mo offers you customized support to help you process your emotions, whether it’s by giving you space to vent and freely express whatever’s on your mind or walking you through guided exercises that help you feel more grounded. It’s a quick but meaningful way to tune in, name how you’re feeling, and find a moment of clarity in your busy day.
One mom shared how helpful it was to use the check-ins as a way to acknowledge and release her emotions:
“Moment for Parents is a way for me to get feedback on my emotions, engage with those emotions, and then it’s easier to let it go.”
Many moms find the check-ins to be an easy, accessible form of self-care—something that helps them pause and reconnect with themselves:
“I really enjoy the reflection activities in each check-in. They're a nice way to reflect on myself as an individual.”
Journeys are collections of short, supportive lessons and guided reflections that help you build habits to care for your emotional well-being. Each Journey is centered on a specific topic — like managing stress, handling worry, or building resilience — and includes bite-sized educational content paired with reflection exercises guided by Mo. The conversations take just a few minutes and use evidence-based strategies to help you feel more centered, supported, and in control.
For pregnant moms, there are Journeys to help you navigate specific phases of pregnancy, like:
Journeys can also help you prepare for the challenges ahead once your baby arrives. These are especially helpful for first-time moms who aren’t sure what to expect in the newborn phase of parenthood. Some Journey topics include:
One pregnant mom who already had older kids explained how she appreciated the Journeys because they helped her “mentally prepare” for each phase of pregnancy and motherhood. You can choose a Journey that fits what you’re going through right now and switch topics anytime, making it easy to get the right support, right when you need it.
In a world full of conflicting pregnancy advice, Mo helps you tune into your values and decide what’s right for you. As one mom shared, Moment for Parents helped her tune out the noise and trust her own path:
“[The app] reminded me that it's okay to make my own decisions.”
For many moms, the guided reflections in these Journeys offer a much-needed space to slow down and process their experience:
“I use it to process what I’m going through, rather than solving the situation. For some situations, there is no way to fix or change it. I love that Moment for Parents just helps me cope with whatever is going on.”
It's been good to have a space to express what I'm going through. I appreciate the affirmation and validation of where I'm at throughout the day.
There is a Journey to support you at each stage in your pregnancy:
First Trimester
Second Trimester
Third Trimester
Moment for Parents helps moms feel validated on their unique journey — reminding them that they’re not alone, even when their experience doesn’t look like someone else’s:
“Moment for Parents helps remind me to be okay with where I am.”
“I really enjoy some of the feelings of camaraderie that I get from using the app… I think it is really empathetic towards whatever experiences I’m having.”
If you’re looking for an emotional outlet that will help you feel valued and understood, you can download the Moment for Parents app from the App Store or Google Play.
Pelvic floor health is often overlooked but plays a vital role in your overall well-being during pregnancy and beyond. The pelvic floor muscles support key organs, such as your bladder, uterus, and bowel. As pregnancy progresses, these muscles can weaken, leading to common issues like incontinence, constipation, and pelvic pain. By staying proactive, you can help protect and strengthen your pelvic floor for better health during and after pregnancy.
Every Mother is a research-backed fitness app that focuses on prenatal and postpartum recovery, including pelvic floor health and diastasis recti (abdominal separation). Offering personalized exercise regimens designed by pelvic floor physical therapists, this app provides a safe and effective way to strengthen your core and pelvic floor. With trimester-specific exercises, Every Mother offers you support at every stage in your pregnancy.
Every Mother offers personalized exercise regimens tailored to your needs and fitness level. Routines are designed to reduce pregnancy discomforts, such as urinary leaking and back pain, and to prepare the core and pelvic floor muscles for birth. Routines may be as short as 10-20 minutes, making it easier to fit exercise into your busy schedule.
The app provides easy access to evidence-based educational resources, and you can reach out to in-house pelvic floor physical therapists with any questions.
App store reviews reflect how moms feel supported by Every Mother's approach. One mom shared:
"This app is a great gentle workout. I love that it is safe for diastasis recti and also helps to heal it! I’m still on week 3 so I’m not very far in, but I love the workouts and gentleness of the trainer and also the helpful videos which tell you what is safe and what is not and how to properly move day to day with diastasis recti. I cried when I watched those because I felt so supported and like I was finally getting the information I needed! I love that you can ask questions and a trained professional will answer you.”
Another mom expressed how much she valued the program's flexibility:
"I love this program and how the workouts are always under 30 minutes, making it so easy to fit them into your daily schedule… I started this program a couple of months before I became pregnant with my second baby. I did the prenatal path throughout my pregnancy and I contribute my super quick and amazing postpartum healing to this!… I’ve not felt this confident physically in quite a few years. I cannot recommend this enough for every mama!”
When you’re pregnant, it can be hard to know what’s happening inside your belly. A baby development app offers a window into your pregnancy, helping you visualize what’s changing week by week and feel more connected to your growing baby.
What to Expect supports parents from conception through the toddler years, offering medically reviewed information, personalized tracking tools, and a large online community.
On the What to Expect app, you can follow your baby’s growth week-by-week, track your progress through your pregnancy, and access expert-reviewed content about pregnancy symptoms, baby development, and more.
A first-time mom said:
“It was helpful to know what to expect, what’s common, what’s not common... just to learn what should be happening since obviously it was my first pregnancy, and I truly had no idea.”
An App Store reviewer noted:
“Knowing what the baby looks like and having an idea of what’s growing that week makes the experience even more exciting to me. I love being informed, it makes me feel more at ease. This app definitely helps with that.
The app also comes with several tools to help you stay organized throughout pregnancy, including a journal where you can log your symptoms and kick counts, a due date calculator, and a registry builder.
On the app, you can join forums based on your due date, interests, or parenting style to ask questions and connect with others.
One mom explained:
“They also have a forum you can sign up for… anyone can go on there and post, ‘This is what I’m going through,’…it’s a good way to connect with people worldwide that you know are due around the same time as you or… having a similar experience as you.”
Other apps moms mentioned in this category include Ovia, Pregnancy+, The Bump, and BabyCenter.
Pregnancy can feel isolating if you’re navigating big changes on your own or if you’re the first one in your friend group to have a baby. Having people to talk to, vent to, or just laugh with about the weird, wonderful parts of pregnancy and motherhood can make a huge difference. Research shows that when pregnant women feel effectively supported, they’re less likely to experience depression and anxiety symptoms during pregnancy. That’s where community apps like Peanut come in.
Peanut is a social networking app designed to help women find connection during fertility, pregnancy, and motherhood. It’s like a matchmaking app for mom friends — offering community support at a time when it’s easy to feel isolated.
Peanut uses a swiping feature similar to dating apps to help you match with other women who live in your area.
An App Store reviewer shared:
"I was ecstatic to have found such an awesome way to connect with other moms living so close to me with similar interests. Since joining, I have set up play-dates at the park with some of the moms and my daughter always has so much fun… Having the support from other women in the same stages of motherhood is such a blessing. I love this app so much and definitely recommend it to any mom who is looking for a safe space to connect with other moms!"
After connecting, you can chat with other moms and plan local meet-ups.
One mom said in an interview:
"I think it's been really helpful to connect with people with babies the same age, because then we've been able to be like, ‘Hey, this is happening today. And he's not sleeping. How's your kid doing?’ And just relating on that level with people within a week of the same birthdate as my son… having that community of people has been supportive."
Pods are live audio conversations that you can start or join to talk to other moms in real-time.
Peanut offers support groups where you can share what’s happening on your pregnancy journey or seek advice from others.
An App Store reviewer said:
“After having my first baby, I experienced feelings of isolation and loneliness. It seemed like I was constantly doubting myself, wondering if I was doing everything wrong. Desiring connection with fellow moms facing similar challenges, I took a leap and downloaded the app... Since then, I've found a community of supportive individuals who understand what I'm going through. It's been a two-way street of receiving and offering support to other moms, and it has truly made a difference in my journey.”
The good news is that you can download multiple apps and experiment with what works for you. All of these apps have a free trial, and some features are free forever. You might also realize that certain apps are more supportive for you at different phases of pregnancy. Likewise, some apps you might use daily, while others you might check only once or twice a week.
The most important part of your decision is to feel as if you’re feeling supported and receiving the information you’re looking for. If you notice being more self-critical or worried after using an app, then that might not be the one for you. Pregnancy apps are meant to support you along your journey, not add to your stress.
